Hello Everyone!
In honor of Pink Saturday let's have some fun!
Hurry this way to see a cabbage rose project that is easy to do!
Let's have a give away too!!!
We start the project with a piece of fabric 54"x 13"
You will need 20 gauge Sealah Shaper double sided no-sew adhesive with bendable wire and a tag gun.
Fold fabric in half, length wise. Press all salvage edges in 1/2 inch and also a crease down the center of the fabric. Open up flat and get ready to place the Sealah Shaper on the fabric .
Just peel one side off for now while you place it on the fabric.
Just press down to stick. The Sealah Shaper is pressure sensitive. Wire is bendable so you may want to lay weights or soup cans down to hold the fabric in place as you press and stick.
After you have pressed wire down on outside edges you will need to place wire down the center of the fabric.
Peel off second side of the Sealah Shaper, fold fabric in half to close the fabric together.
Start pressing!
Press the whole piece together with you fingers. Don't worry if it looks wavy it will start shaping on it's own. You can still use a weight to hold as you press.
Start folding fabric where the seam came together. This will become the bottom of the rose.
Bend and fold every 2" inches or so.
You can see it bends with ease!
Now you can start to wind the fabric around and get ready to use a tag gun to hold your folds you made. Every 2" or 3" inches.
Tag on the bottom side of the rose. Can you see the seam? The bulk goes on the back side.
Here is the cabbage rose completed on the backside.
Now we can turn it over and its done!
You can bend and shape it any way you want!
This a great accent for a pillow, drapery or on the back of chair for a tea party!! My vintage friends out in blog land would love this cabbage rose project in a burlap fabric! Am I right ladies?!
