We will honor our family members and soldiers.
A meaningful holiday and reminder of the sacrifice that was made for our freedom.
God Bless each one of you that have served and those who continue to serve us in the military today.
It is a true privilege to celebrate with you on Memorial Day.

What a lovely day we had at the Antique Garden and Art Faire last Saturday.
It was very exciting to see so many Riverside friends come out for the day! I even saw our Mayor's wife buying a few goodies.
In the wee hours the night before the event I decided to finish my parisian apron I wanted to wear it at the garden sale.
If you are wondering... Yes, I enjoy late night designing, creating and last minute crafting!!
The fabric, ribbon, and vintage elements were all applied with Sealah No Sew Adhesive. My girlfriend Jennifer embroidered the Eiffel Tower piece on tea towel, it worked out perfect for my new apron. A great DIY for those of you that love sealah tape and want to make something quick!
We had such a beautiful variety of accessories and furnishings from the twelve vendors that participated.
My sweet daughter helped me the entire day of event also my husband and son were a huge help setting up and tearing down. Thank you family!
A huge Thank You goes out to Diana Peasley and Connie Nolan for all their hard work putting this Garden Sale together!
These two sweet ladies are both fellow vendors at Forget Me Antiques~~~ if you missed the event you may want stop by the store and see what treasures are still available to purchase.
I also wanted to thank family and friends that took the time to come out to the Sale...it was so great to see you all! I hope you enjoyed your visit.

A special friendship to reflect on today~~~ my dear friend Julie.
We grew up just a few blocks apart...Our parents were best friends in high school.
We did everything together...ballet lessons, brownies, girl scouts, violin and piano recitals.
We even had a singing group in the early 70's called the Updates! A cross between the Partridge Family and the Brady Bunch! We sang with tambourines, matching outfits and chocker necklaces:) ha-ha
Back in the day~~~we loved taking silly pictures in the old photo booth at Woolworth's in the Riverside Plaza.
Aahhhh, so many summers spent waterskiing and camping at Lake Havasu, Arizona...and lots of memories driving the VW bug to 15th street in Newport Beach :)
We loved the drive thru at Naugles...yummy tostadas and macho burritos!
Best friends and cheerleaders during our high school years...this photo was taken in Hawaii after we graduated in 1979.
No matter how much time passes by and we may go months before we get to see each other in person, we just pick up where we left off and laugh and talk for hours!
Julie writes a column in her local newspaper about her life as a wife and mother with humor and laughter in each post! She is also a fellow blogger so we enjoy visiting each others sites encouraging and cheerleading each other on in our lives and in business.
I have to add that Julie has an amazing memory. She can remember details of our lives from forty years ago...old phone numbers, addresses and birthdays too!
A special friendship that will continue to last a lifetime.

A Spring day filled with blooms here in Southern California!
We put some mulch down in the planters and added a few new colorful plants this past week. Our west coast weather has been hot and cold so many of my plants were a little off the blooming schedule~~ but I am seeing color and growth now and it is already time to trim back some of the plants.
Hoping to dig in and work the garden a little more this weekend. Weeds are popping up all over and the snails are moving in~~~I wish I could rent a duck for the weekend they love to eat snails! ha-ha
New gophers holes have appeared this week...We have tried everything to get rid of those pesky critters, curious if anyone knows of any new remedies to get rid of gophers? Please share if you do!
In honor of Mother's day last weekend I asked my Mom to select a random number to win the pretty spring giveaway!
