Where would I be without Art? Where would any of us be?
As far back as I can remember I loved being creative. From when I first started designing with fresh flowers while I was in college to owning my own business today, Kay Ellen Designs I don’t believe there has been a day when art has not been part of my life.
Twyla Tharp once said, “Art is the only way to run away without leaving home.” How true this is for me. I have lived in Riverside, California all of my life where I have developed a reputation for creating a successful home design business. As a designer, I draw freely upon my imagination while listening carefully to my clients’ needs and wants. Like an artist with a blank canvas, I am motivated to fill in the missing pieces to transform a house into a home.
My career in the interior design business spans over thirty years. Today, on top of running my business, I am also a successful photographer where my photos have graced many magazines, including, Romantic Magazine, Casa Creativa, Window Covering News Magazine, Somerset Life and Artful Blogging just to name a few. I also operate a charming space in a local antique store, Forget Me Not Antiques. Here, I combine my love with the past while creating unique ways to use these treasures in every day life. In my spare time I developed and now operate a successful blog where I share my creative inspirations, latest home designs, flower arrangements, table settings and much more.
For me, art is without limitations. To fully express yourself in your work is a blessing that I am privileged to have. It is a job that is never finished, which means every day I get to start something new.

It is good to give thanks to the Lord, to sing praises in your name, O Most High to declare your steadfast love in the morning and your faithfulness by night, to the music of the flute & harp to the melody of the lyre. For you, O Lord have made me glad by your work and the works of your hands~~I will sing for JoyPsalm 92:1-4
