Blog Gatherings...

The table is set...but still wrapping presents

I set the table for Christmas...but oh my goodness I am going to wrapping presents all day long!

My dishes, glassware and silverware I have had for many years. The only new item I purchased for the table was fresh cranberries I accented in a few areas.

I used some faux berry napkin rings as petite wreathes laying on each linen napkin.

A co-worker of my husbands made these yummy biscuits from scratch! I just love that he had extra to bring home. I put them on a vintage tray and added fresh cranberries.

Winter White Setting...

The centerpiece is a mixture of vintage ornaments, glass door knobs, mercury and glass trees sitting on a silver tray. 

My kitty loves to watch my daughter and I wrap presents. This is his favorite place to sit under the Christmas tree...

Napoleon is a cool cat :) 

Our family room tree is filled with homemade ornaments that the kids have made...I just love pulling them out each year.

I was able to get these two girls Gracie & April to pose for a photo by the family tree. Hope this puts a smile on your face today.

Pets

Are you a pet owner? I am such an animal lover. I know if I had more room I would have a farm full of animals...but time and life's busyness has kept our furry family to these three below. 

This is pretty Miss Gracie almost 6 years old. Gracie is our sweet and very polite miniature schnauzer.

We lost our rescued schnauzer Annie to cancer almost seven years ago and found Gracie while I was recovering from knee surgery. I potty trained her while I hobbled around on crutches. A playful and kindhearted puppy but if she sees a critter on the back fence  ~~~ watch out, she will go in to full battle mode. Gracie loves to play with any size stuffed animal that she can fit in her mouth even if it is bigger then her! She also enjoys taking naps in my lap.  

Here is April our feisty full of life Jack Russell mix. She is only a year old. We adopted her this past spring at the San Jacinto animal shelter. This girl is difinitely a tomboy. She loves to play tug a war, jump up high for tennis balls and I am pretty sure she could run a marathon if she wanted too. 

Meet Napoleon the coolest cat in the neighborhood. Oh my, he is quite the hunter. I can't even begin to count the critters he has left for us on the front porch. Plays outside all day and sleeps inside at night. A tabby mix with lots of fur. We have decided he is the pack leader in the animal kingdom at our house and most of the time he thinks he is a dog. He never hangs out with other cats... but he is very comfortable with dogs. We enjoy watching him keep our puppies in line and when he is in a playful mood it is pretty funny to watch the three of them play together. 

No big plans at our house for the weekend...I do have to work today but I am hoping to do a little relaxing like my kitty Napoleon over the three day weekend:)

We have had some scary brush fires locally on service streets and highways this past week. Our close friends home came 100 feet from being burned. We are thanking God that no one was hurt and praising the amazing Riverside Firefighters for taking action so quickly!!

A very busy weekend

I wanted to send out a special thank you for those of you who knew about my Dad being in the hospital this weekend...our family truly appreciated all your prayers, phone calls and thoughtful notes.

My Dad had congestive heart failure on Friday night in the wee hours... thankful he is feeling better each day.

I went to the grogery store to do some shopping for low sodium and non- salted products requested by my Dad's doctor. Did you know salt is in everything! Well not everything but it sure seems like it. I did manage to find a few items that will work...but my Mom would love some suggestions for dinners~~please email me some recipes!!

Before all this happened I had a photo shoot Friday morning at a new animal shelter in San Jacinto...

after I finished taking photos I decided to meet some of the amazing animals that were up for adoption. 

Look who I brought home....Meet April!

Our newest addition to the family. She is a one year old jack russell terrier mix.

April is so sweet and really loves our schnauzer Gracie. She is still trying to figure out our cat Napoleon. I have decided Napoleon is the pack leader in this group because he is in charge and pretty funny to watch him with the two dogs.

Saturday morning I had already committed to help set up a Vintage Sale at Forget Me Not Antiques. I only had three hours of sleep Friday night because we were at the hospital so late...but what could I do? I love the owner and the sweet antique dealers so I stopped off at Starbucks for a strong coffee and headed off to help set up.

I love this little chair...so cute!!

Perfect shopping weather~~~ it was overcast and a cool Saturday morning.

This fun door is the newest piece in my space. 

I packed up early and came home to get ready for a special wedding my family was attending Saturday evening.

A little flower therapy for me, on thursday evening I made some of the bridal bouquets for the wedding. 

The darling flower girl was a little tired of waiting for the ceremony to begin so she came up front early and sat down on the plateform~~ A priceless moment!

 

It was a beautiful ceremony and evening ~~~ Congratulations to Jon & Sarah!

A special moment for Mother and Son. I got a little teared up over this one. 

and some twirling and celebrating going on too!

Hello Friends,

We have a little sunshine today after seven days of dark and stormy weather.

I grabbed my camera quick and took a few more pictures of our home.

I enjoy setting the table a few days in advance... now we are ready for Christmas morning breakfast. 

My Christmas china is made by Nikko...I bought my first place setting 25 years ago.

The only new item I purchased on the table this year was one box of ornaments from the Dollar Tree!

More winter sparkle in the corner cabinet filled with tarnished silver.

I have a special memory table set up to celebrate those family members that have passed away...keeping memories alive and sharing their stories. 

Some of my dearest friends are hurting deeply this holiday season...missing their loved ones that have passed away this year.  A son, daughter, brother, sister, husband, wife, mother, father, co-worker and a high school friend. I wanted express my love and let you know I am praying for each of you at this difficult time... 

Need to smile in this busy and non stop season? Miss Gracie cuddled up on a pillow might help.

or Napoloen my cat that thinks he is a dog! He was so excited to go outside today and explore after all the heavy rains...

It's A Pet's Life

Hi Friends,

Happy Friday!

This is sweet Snowball pictured above. I am dog sitting for my mother in law while she is recovering from hip replacement surgery. He is so adorable and such a character.

My kitty Napoleon was a little put out when he first met Snowball, but a few days have gone by and he is fine with our house guest.

Miss Gracie my schnauzer was very stressed with Snowballs visit and needed some extra attention and love. Cooling off can help anyone right?! She is such a sweet dog.

My crazy cat has the longest tongue...he can touch his nose! I can't do that...

This is easier to do... Nose to nose :)

This is Barney. We are looking for a wonderful family to adopt him. My mother in law just can't keep him with her on going medical condition. We have a small yard or I would keep him in a second!!! If you live in Southern California and are looking for a dog... we would love for you to consider this beautiful Shepard mix.

 

Well, Gracie is back to her old self, my faithful companion.
