Saved from the Trash

Sweet Kari and Kajisa want us all to share our trash to treasure finds. Join in the fun!

I pulled this old window out of the trash. It has made a great backdrop for my birdbath in the garden.

This old iron scroll chair I pulled out of the trash a few years ago. I wish I had a before picture. The original upholstery was red vinyl with sparkles! The iron finish was an antique gold.
Can you picture it? lol

Today the chair has a tropical look and sits in my bedroom.

You never know what you may find in the trash!

This was originally an iron stand for an ash tray.
I couldn't wait to find a new creative way to use this dis-guarded piece.

Spring is Here

Hello Friends!

I am back from my anniversary get away. It was so nice to sleep in and relax. We had wonderful time and amazing weather. Everywhere I looked I saw such gorgeous blooms to admire and smell.

When we arrived back home I headed right for my garden, I guess you could say I have Spring Fever!

After enjoying my garden it was time to get back to work, busy picking out paint for a large remodel in progress.

 

Checking on the new tile in the guest bathroom, glass blocks are installed and tile is completed in the shower. Now we are ready for paint!

In the kitchen, I am thrilled that the granite is installed! I think I need to talk to the electrician about possibly adding a little more length to the pendant lights, what do guys think?

I also want to have the support post trimmed out in wood to match the cabinets ... I just sent the cabinet maker a text message ;-)

Well... my list is getting longer as I look at this photo.

Blessed are the flexible, we don't break ... and the more things off my hit list means we are getting closer to being done.

My husband and I were really touched by all your anniversary wishes!

We enjoyed our little vacation and we didn't have to travel too far, we stayed at the beautiful Disney's Grand Californian Hotel and Spa.

The Lobby is a great place to hang out and relax.

We enjoyed sitting near the fireplace with our coffee at night.

We loved our Anniversary dinner, a French inspired multi-course meal at the Napa Rose Restaurant, what a treat!

We will never forget our special time away.

Reflecting on a Special Day

Hi Friends,

I am thinking of a special day gone by and remembering that music was playing.

It was a beautiful Spring day in March of 1984. The day was filled with hopes and dreams yet to come.

You could smell the lilacs in my bouquet and around the church. I was excited to say the words I DO.  

We were so young! It is amazing to me that it has been Twenty Five years!

We had a large wedding party filled with family and friends.  

 Our first toast as man and wife.

We had a string quartet perform during the wedding and our reception. I grew up playing string instruments and the piano. I enjoyed selecting the music that was played for our special day.

I can hear the music like it was yesterday. 

Leaving the church to run away on our honeymoon. Rice throwing in full swing.

I am off to spend a few days away with my husband to reflect and celebrate our Silver Anniversary!
God has richly blessed us.
