Road Trip to the Redwoods

Hi Friends,

Back from our Thanksgiving holiday road trip. We had such a great time with our extended family.  

A very long drive~~but such beautiful scenery along the way. 

My Uncle Don & Aunt Mercedes live in the Redwoods. They graciously hosted our Thanksgiving celebration this past weekend. 

The weather can change so quickly in the forest. 

We arrived before the sunset to a cold winter feeling afternoon.

Our welcoming commitee was Buster the dog~~~a big talker :)

These three girls came out to say hi in the rain! 

A non stop busy weekend filled with new babies.

The newest arrival in our family is baby Cooper.

Three cutie pie toddler cousins...sitting for a brief second to snap a photo! 

The oldest of the young kiddos~~~ Tyler. My Mom suprised him with a nerf gun. He was smiling all weekend.

Enjoyed long walks around the neighborhood.

My sister Kim and I smiling as we were getting ready to cut some greenery to decorate the Thanksgiving tables. 

Our bag is full of pretty foliage...

Setting the tables....we had fourty five attend our feast! 

A wonderful meal and a thankful family.

A lot of laughter... 

Watched a few football games and a win for the Oregon Ducks!

Cozy and a Craft

A stormy weekend... and I feel a cold starting.  A perfect time to wrap up in a blanket, daydream and watch a movie...also you can take a peek at my Fall decorated mantel.

I curled up on my cozy family room sofa, watched a NetFlix movie and listened to the rain outside.

My daughter and I did get a little crafty this afternoon. We made these cute little turkeys to share with you all.

A fun and easy project for kids of all ages... 

Turkey Craft 

Apple for the body

Large Marshmallow for the head

Toothpicks needed for the beak, feet and feathers

Two Whole Cloves for the eyes

Gumdrops become the feathers

Orange Slice is for the gobbler

Lay the apple on it's side, the bottom of the apple is where you will place the marshmallow head.

Take two toothpicks to make the beak and push into the apple.

Place two whole cloves in the marshmallow for the eyes.

Two tooth picks should work great for the feet...it will also help keep your turkey balanced and steady:)

After feet are added the Orange slice can be placed under the Marshmallow head.

Last detail is adding tooth picks in a fan shape. Place five to six toothpicks in the apple and add multi-colored gumdrops for the feathers.

Enjoy your edible Turkey!

Well, back to daydreaming~~~or napping
