I was in my Mom's drapery workroom this week and found a huge bag filled with vintage yo-yo's. What I didn't know is my Mom had made alot of these yo-yo's when she was 13 years old. She also pointed out several yo-yo's that were from outfits of my sisters and mine when we were little girls.
My wheels starting spinning thinking of DIY creative projects I could dream up using her yo-yo's and sealah no sew tape.
A tea towel was my first creation I decided to make. Easy and a quick gift idea too! I purchased a towel from the 99 cent store, used my Mom's yoyo's, 1 yard of lace from Jo Anne's fabrics and ric-rac from the 1.00 bin at Micheals.
Embellished and attached each element with sealah tape.
The sealah tape is clear, double sided and super easy to apply.
Instagram photo I shared...this would be a great slip cover on the back of chair too!!!
Press Down and apply doubled sided tape...
Peel off back and start adding embellishments...
I added the tiny ric-rac for a pop of color on top of the lace.
The sealah tape comes in several widths.
My favorite is the 5 yard variety pack. On the tea towel I used 3 of the widths in the pack.
1/8" for the ric-rac, 1/4" for the lace and 3/4" for the yo-yo's.

The second creation I made...a vintage yo-yo pillow! Oh I just love it... !!
My mom had a large square already sewn together so lucky me and I had a pillow form that was a perfect size to use.
I just turned over the square of sewn yo-yo's and pressed and peeled many rows of sealah no sew tape and paced it right side up on the pillow form! Pressed down with my hand all over and it was finished.
I used the 3/8" size for this project.

My third creation I made a monogram feeling pillow... My initial "K" with the yo-yo's!
I used the 1/2" width tape for the "K"
Press, Peel and Stick! No sewing with sealah no sew tape.
