Mechanic Cart Makeover

I enjoy finding unusual old pieces at flea markets or swap meets. Some people would see this mechanics cart as junk but I see it as a treasure. 

Are you done sprucing up your home for the holidays? I have just started. The life of a designer means I help my clients before I begin my decorating.

I hosed down and cleaned this old mechanics cart I had out in my garden. I have used it few times for events but always outside.

A few treasures I placed on the cart include, a teapot, teaspoons,  a vintage tray, silver spoons and few of my favorite props: an old coffee bean sack and a vintage suitcase.

Here we go....Now this old cart has a new purpose in my entryway.

Come on in, I am ready to serve Christmas coffee!

I went to my first Christmas gathering last night ...  of course I am the last minute person frantically looking for ribbons and pretty things to wrap up my goodies I was bringing... I looked on the floor of the garage and noticed a container filled with burnt out Christmas lights... perfect! I can put these to good use!   

I gathered everything I could find and decided I would wrap up the treats in cellophane bags with mix-matched ribbons and old Christmas bulbs.

 

I love these little dapper gingerbread gents I bought.

I had ran out of time to bake and Trader Joes saved me in a pinch.

They are really moist and taste like homemade.

I had a wonderful evening at the party and my burnt out light-bulbs and store bought baked cookies were a big hit! 

Save your old Christmas bulbs and re-purpose for the holidays...a pretty nifty and thrifty, DIY :)

My Holiday Shop at "Sew Funky"

I had a wonderful and artful day at the Sew Funky Market Place this past Sunday.

It was my extreme pleasure to create, design and sell holiday treasures at this event. What a blessing to visit and meet so many creative vendors. 

I will be taking the merchandise that was not spoken for back to my little shop located at Forget Me Not Antiques in Riverside.

A big thank you to Christina Wells for hosting the Sew Funky Holiday Market. This creative shopping day was a great success because of all your hard work behind the scenes. I was very humbled by your phone call today that the vendors voted and selected my shop as the Best Dressed.

I am still blushing:)
